My motivation to develop a teaching portfolio stems from a realisation in 2024 that I have been teaching project management for 20 years! Admittedly in a part-time capacity alongside a full-time industry role until 2017, and in parallel with a part-time PhD in educational research completed in 2023. For the academic year 2024/25 I have the privilege of teaching in a full-time capacity as Teaching Fellow in Project Management at Kemmy Business School, University of Limerick, and so the time is opportune to reflect on this key milestone of 20 years of teaching practice in the format of a teaching portfolio.
My portfolio is constructed across four pages with links as follows: my teaching philosophy statement, my teaching experience, my skills and certifications, and finally, reflections on my teaching practice (in the form of occasional blog posts from 2019 to date).
As an open researcher, and now an open teaching practitioner, I hope that my reflexive practice may be of value to others in the way that my open access learning portfolio continues to be accessed from all over the world.
